Gathering Inspiration

Working on my ideas and gathering inspiration - it helps for me to have my favourite books, magazines and of course my own recipe books around.

I have still to put my favourite Christmas decoration away but Santa is also very inspiring

Kick starting 2011

I have kick started 2011 with a new project - to create a Christmas Book with ideas for decorating the Christmas table and the house.  In this book I am going to add my favourite Christmas recipes. In developing my ideas for this book it occurred to me that as my background is Hungarian that I also need to include a section on Hungarian Christmas recipes and Christmas traditions as well as everyday Hungarian recipes which I have grown up with.

This idea of a Christmas Book came about because I really love Christmas and would love for the spirit of Christmas to infect other peoples lives as it does mine. I would love for them to enjoy decorating and cooking as I do and to remember that the most important thing is to share this with their family and friends.

So with my Hungarian background I have thought it is time for me to collate 50 plus years of enjoying the Hungarian food and traditions by preserving the memories on behalf of my parents, Sandor and Maria, and ensuring my children Cameron and Alanna do not forget.  So 2011 will be a task for me to join West to East ...

A recent holiday to the snow....

We went to Perisher/Smiggin Holes a week ago and the weather was fabulous - not as much snow as we hoped but it was enough to get our feet shooshing in it. As I am a late bloomer in regards to skiing - Tim has wanted a couple of play mates for a while - he was very happy that he now has company skiing around the mountains - our lovely off springs !!

And while we were away my baby girl turned 17 ! How wonderful !

I love digital cameras it makes taking family happy snaps fun !

Kick starting my blog again ......

Well it has been a while .... but i have decided to re-kick start the blog of happiness and gratitude so that i can reflect on all the good things in life and appreciate it.


A recent encounter with Tara really made me smiled

Mary's Happy Haven caved in ..........

The household has experienced a hectic few weeks ... Cameron's Yr 12 trials and trying to prepare himself for each exam with little sleep in between, Mary fracturing her left wrist and not being able to drive, Tim's company winning an important tender bid and having added home stress put on him by his family, Alanna trying to cope with Yr 11 school subjects and assessments which she does not like.... Yep a pretty ordinary family really

Well the week has certainly been busy for the two teenagers in our household and the end result for Alanna was ... Stan ... truly lovely

As for Cameron his trials will commence on Monday .... Good luck to my boy
